Clarity Sensors
Delivering Clarity in Every Scan. Redefining medical imaging with cutting-edge X-ray detectors - providing lower doses, sharper images, and clearer insights
Clarity Sensors was founded in 2022, born out of pioneering research from the Optoelectronic Materials and Device Spectroscopy Group at the University of Cambridge. However, our journey began in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the need for more advanced and accessible medical imaging solutions became increasingly clear. This urgency drove the development of our breakthrough in high-performance perovskite semiconductors, specifically engineered for exceptional sensitivity to X-rays.
As a University of Cambridge spin-out, our research has been supported by over £1 million in university-awarded grants. Now, Clarity Sensors is supported by a prestigious €2.5 million European Innovation Council Transition grant to bring our transformational X-ray detector technology to market.
Our mission is to transform medical imaging by developing X-ray detector modules using state-of-the-art perovskite semiconductors that produce high-quality X-ray images at a fraction of the current X-ray dose. By turning cutting-edge research into impactful technology, our vision is to enable a world with greater access to life-saving preventative screening, earlier disease detection, and improved patient safety.
